Cody
Wyoming is located in the Big Horn Basin of Northwestern
Wyoming, just east of Yellowstone
National Park. Cody was founded by Buffalo
Bill Cody, who's spirit still is felt throughout the
area. The
Hotel Irma, named for Buffalo Bill's daughter,
still draws guests and features entertainment offered
so many years ago. Rich in history, Cody's Buffalo
Bill Historical Center affords visitors and residents
an in-depth view of the Old West, historical insights
into the Plains Indians, an unrivaled collection of
Western Art, the largest collection of firearms (including
the Winchester collection) in the world, and opened
the Natural History center in the Spring of 2002.
Cody offers residents and visitors several medical
facilities, a wide range of businesses, and a regional
airport; big city benefits in a small town setting!
Whether you enjoy the arts, hiking, camping, fishing,
rodeo, riding horses, skiing, snowmobiling, wildlife
viewing, or scenic drives, the Cody Wyoming area offers

Cody was founded in 1896 by William F. "Buffalo
Bill" Cody, and is known as the Rodeo Capital
of the World. The
Cody Nite Rodeo has been in operation since 1938
and can be seen every night at 8:30 p.m. from June
1 to August 31.
Yellowstone
National Park , our country's first and finest
national park, is located a short distance from Cody.
The drive through Wapiti Valley to Yellowstone is
magnificent and was considered by Teddy Roosevelt
to be the
most scenic 50 miles in America.

Cody
is surrounded by natural areas that offer almost
limitless opportunities for outdoor activities including
hiking, camping, fishing, big game hunting, horseback
riding, biking, skiing, river rafting, rock climbing,
and wildlife viewing. These areas include
Yellowstone
National Park, Bighorn
Canyon National Recreation Area,
Shoshone
National Forest, Big
Horn National Forest, the Big Horn Basin, surrounded
by the Big Horn Mountains, and the Beartooth and
Absaroka ranges of the Rocky Mountains; and, rivers
and creeks such as the Shoshone and Big Horn Rivers,
Paintrock, Shell and Tensleep Creeks.
 Furthermore,
Wyoming has only a 4% sales tax, NO state income
tax, and some of the lower property taxes in the

communities; Cody to the north and Worland to the
south. Billings, Montana offers major regional
